A special shoutout to Louise at Messy Little Monster for this adorable craft inspiration!
Supplies Needed:
- Paper plate
- Yellow and black paint
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Scissors
- White cardstock or paper
Instructions:
Step 1: Paint the Paper Plate
Gather your supplies and get ready to create! Start by painting your paper plate yellow. Let it dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Step 2: Add Bee Stripes
Once your plate is dry, use black paint to add stripes across the body of your bee. Let the paint dry, then fold the plate in half.
Step 3: Shape Your Bee
Time to give your bee its signature shape! Using scissors, round one end of the folded plate to create the bee’s head. Then, trim the opposite end to form a stinger. If you want to make a rocking bee, keep the bottom curved so it can gently move back and forth when placed on a flat surface!
Step 4: Create the Wings
Trace your child’s hands on white cardstock and cut them out to form the bee’s wings. You’ll need two handprints—one for each side.
Step 5: Bring Your Bee to Life!
Finish your bee by gluing on googly eyes and attaching the handprint wings to the back. Now your little buzzy friend is ready to rock and roll!
This adorable Spring DIY Bee Craft is perfect for a rainy day activity or a fun way to celebrate nature. Try making a whole swarm of bees with different wing colors or add a smile to their faces for extra personality.
Happy crafting! 🐝✨
