Celebrate Mardi Gras with a Fun Handprint Mask Craft! 🎭🎨 - Little Dreamers Club

Mardi Gras, which means "Fat Tuesday" in French, is a festive celebration that takes place the day before Ash Wednesday. Traditionally, it's a time for indulging in rich, delicious foods before Lent season begins. But for kids and families, Mardi Gras is also about vibrant colors, creative crafts, and, of course, masks!

One of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to celebrate is by making your own Mardi Gras Hand print Mask. This craft is perfect for kids of all ages and even fun for teachers looking for a festive classroom activity!

What You’ll Need:

✅ Construction paper (any Mardi Gras colors—purple, green, and gold are traditional!)
✅ Scissors
✅ Tape
✅ Pen or pencil
✅ A straw (or craft stick)
✅ Decorating supplies: markers, paint, glitter, crayons—anything that sparks creativity!

How to Make Your Hand print Mask:

  1. Trace & Cut: Trace your hand on the construction paper and cut it out. Repeat so you have two hand cutouts.
  2. Assemble: Line up the cutouts and tape them together, forming a mask shape.
  3. Create Eye Holes: Carefully cut out holes for the eyes.
  4. Decorate: Use markers, glitter, or paint to give your mask that signature Mardi Gras flair!
  5. Attach the Handle: Tape a straw or craft stick to the back so you can easily hold your mask.

And that’s it—your festive Mardi Gras mask is ready to parade around! 🎭

Mardi Gras is always celebrated on a Tuesday, and this craft is a fantastic way to bring the spirit of the holiday into your home or classroom. We had so much fun making these, and I hope you do too!
