🧃 Monster Windsocks Craft

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • Total Time: 10 minutes

  • Age Group: Preschool and up

  • Project Type: Kids Crafts

✂️ Supplies You'll Need:

  • Cardstock (in bright or monster-like colors)

  • Crepe paper streamers

  • White paper (for mouths and fangs)

  • Black marker

  • Yarn or string (for hanging)

🛠 Craft Tools:

  • Glue stick

  • Tape

  • Scissors

📋 Instructions:

  1. Draw and cut out your monster eyeballs.

  2. Cut crepe paper streamers into 3-foot lengths (or however long you'd like your monster’s tail to be).

  3. Place the cardstock horizontally in front of you.

  4. Glue an eyeball near the top center, about 1–2 inches from the edge.

  5. Draw a monster mouth with fangs on white paper using a black marker, then cut it out—carefully keeping the black outline.

  6. Glue the mouth underneath the eyeball.

  7. Flip the cardstock over and glue streamers to the bottom edge (the opposite side of the eye).

  8. Roll the cardstock into a tube shape and tape the edges together to secure it.

  9. Cut 8–10 inches of yarn and tape both ends to the inside top of your tube to create a hanger.

Hang your monster windsock up where it can flutter and fly—it’s sure to bring smiles wherever it goes!

👻 Expert Tips & FAQs

  • Don’t have cardstock? You can use construction paper, but it may tear more easily and may not hold the tube shape as well.

  • Want something extra sturdy? Try using craft foam! Just use staples instead of tape and be sure to secure the yarn handle well.

  • Add your own flair! Stick on pom-poms, glitter, use large googly eyes or add extra eyes to make your monster truly unique.

🎨 Why Kids Love It:

This project encourages creativity, improves fine motor skills, and gives kids a chance to explore fun monster-themed designs. Plus, it’s just plain silly—and that’s half the fun!
