Materials List:
- Pen
- Chipboard (I used a cereal box)
- 6-8 green colored sheets of card stock (Using two different shades will add some variation) The amount depends on how big your child’s hand is.
- Red Card stock (or red pom poms would be really cute!)
- Small round circle punch
- Scissors
- Adhesive
- Large round plate (Try a 10″)
- Small round bowl (Try a 6")
- Ribbon
Instructions:
- Trace your child’s hand onto the chipboard to make a template.
- Cut out the hand template. Set it aside. You can do all the tracing at the same time, then cut everything at once.
- Place your plate on a piece of 12 inch green colored card stock and trace a circle for your wreath.
- Place your bowl in the center of your new wreath form and trace another circle. The thickness of your wreath really is determined on how big or small your child’s hand is. If you are doing baby hands, you might want to go with a slightly thinner wreath.
- Cut out your circles.
- Using your hand template, trace and cut out about 20-25 hands using the remaining green colored card stock. I used 21 hands in the finished wreath pictured. Turn the template over a on half of them so the fingers and thumb aren’t all facing the same direction. This will give you a bit more variety!
- Glue the hands on the circle them with a little liquid glue, having each of them face out or in.
- Finish it off with a few red “berries”. You can use a 1″ circle punch on your red card stock. Glue the circles on after punching them out..
- Tie a ribbon around it for a hanger.
- Write your child’s name, age and the date!
